Religious Jews have a separate, fast-track line to enter the Temple Mount. To get there quickly, you must bypass the tourists (you can ask the security guard at the entrance).

Private vehicles are not allowed to enter through Jaffa Gate between 9:00-18:00 except for Old City residents, merchants, and those with disabled parking permits. Therefore, it’s recommended to park in one of the nearby parking lots.

Light rail
For visitors from outside Jerusalem, comfortable train rides to the “Jerusalem- Yitzchak Navon” station run approximately every 30 minutes from stations in Tel Aviv and the Airport. (We suggest downloading Moovit for personalized results, based on your current location.)
The easiest way to reach the Temple Mount is by light rail, with a stop conveniently located outside of the Jerusalem train station. During the opening hours of the Mount, the light rail arrives every 5 minutes. It’s recommended to get off at the “City Hall (Iriyah)” station – from there, walk to “Jaffa Gate / Shaar Yaafo” (about 5 minutes) and then continue to the entrance of the Mount and Kotel.
Light rail passengers have three “Park and Ride” lots where you can leave your car and then board the light rail: Mount Herzl parking lot, Ammunition Hill parking lot, and Pisgat Ze’ev parking lot.
Alternatively, you can also walk through the Shuk (David Street) along the entire street, and at the end turn right and immediately left onto HaShalshelet Street until you reach the Western Wall security checkpoint. From there, cross the Western Wall Plaza towards the south (Dung Gate), and at the end is the entrance to the Mount.
You can walk through the Jewish Quarter and go down the stairs leading to the Western Wall. Continue with the right flight of stairs that leads to the Western Wall bus parking lot adjacent to the plaza, and from there go down the stairs towards the entrance to the Temple Mount.

Taxis
Taxis are allowed to always enter through Jaffa Gate, so you can reach the Temple Mount by taxi. You can also hail a taxi along the driving routes within the Old City, with taxi concentrations usually found around the road leading up to Jaffa Gate, and near the Western Wall and Dung Gate.
